Trip:
Human Relations Weekend
At the end of November or beginning of December the Advisor and Board
select 32 students (based on applications they fill out) to attend a weekend trip
to Camp Bernie in Port Murray, NJ. During the trip, the social skills which the club always encourages are honed in on and developed. The Executive Board leads the entire trip and follows a carefully planned schedule. The agenda consists of discussions, project adventure team building, and other activities which seek to bring the group closer together. Every year the trip proves to be a tremendous success, resulting in new found friendships and an increase in school unity.
The weekend is planned by the Club Advisor (Mrs. Gianfrancesco) and the
Executive Board. While the activities are run by the Executive Board,
Mrs. G, and two other adult chaperones engage in the activities giving the students an adult perspective on the issues discussed. The chaperones are usually engaging and help bring some insight into the activities we run.
